Regrettably, but for positive, long term reasons that will have a positive effect on amateur surfing as a whole, No Fear will not be continuing on with its Koastal Kaos surfing property. Cognizant of the duplication and overlap between the Koastal Kaos series and the National Scholastic Surfing Association [NSSA], No Fear had decided to terminate the California-based Koastal Kaos series in order to significantly enhance its involvement in the NSSA, for 30 years the most prestigious, premiere amateur surfing program in the entire nation. “We loved the Koastal Kaos series,” explains Britt Galland, No Fear Vice President of Marketing, “however, we were only able to produce it in California. We wanted to branch out with it, but realized it would be much better to just increase our involvement with the NSSA. The NSSA is so great for surfing and has been such a great partner with us that we just, collectively, came to the conclusion that working even closer together with the NSSA would be great for everybody. In fact, No Fear just picked up the NSSA Junior program. We’re both excited and enthused about the future and believe this really is the right thing to do.”
